Specialties...
I so enjoy assisting people in creating their journeys throughout the continent! I specialize in East Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Egypt – as well as Families, Honeymoons, Soft Adventure, and Walking Safaris.
My current passion is…
Enabling travelers to find their love of Africa by visiting special locations that focus on conservation and community. There have been many times I have taken travel agents to experience Africa, and after a visit to a local village we are all filled with compassion and completeness. I’ve even heard it was the best part of the trip! I love when people learn that the best way to help wildlife and local communities is to visit, always in keeping with the ethos of leave no mark, take only pictures.
I have wandered to…
Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, as well as all over South America, and even the Arctic. I have returned to some places more than once, as each visit is always different and evolving. The places that inspire me the most are far from mass tourism, which lets me breathe fresh air and not hear the sounds of city life. The properties I love to promote and visit give back to their local communities, participate with wildlife protection, and are green or are going green.western lowland gorillas. My last trip to Africa was to Kenya, where I visited the baby elephant I “adopted” in Nairobi, went tubing down a pristine river in Laikipia, and drove soundlessly through a herd of 10,000 wildebeest as the sun set over the Sand River.
Some memorable moments…
I have had some very memorable moments while on safari. I’ve had a wild elephant approach and smell me all over! I’ve had a lion roar at me from a few feet away! I’ve also enjoyed walking with a local Zimbabwean who stopped at a Baobob tree, asked me for my water, and a few moments later presented me with an adjustable rope bracelet. He said if we had time he could make me a hat and sandals as well. Every single journey to Africa adds unforgettable moments which I cherish, and live within me forever.the water, a series of thatched chalets along a sandy beach at the base of the Mahale Mountains, alive with chattering birds and wild chimpanzees, is breathtaking.
