Specialties...

While I love assisting travelers with all aspects of travel to Africa, my specialties are primate trekking (both gorilla and chimpanzee) and Uganda. That said, there is so much to know about Africa and the safari countries I am constantly learning!

My current passion is…

Right now it’s safari camps and lodges that are deeply “off the grid”, mostly because that’s where I most want to be. I am inspired by places that are untouched and wild, and by the people who work tirelessly to protect them and the wildlife that lives within.

I have wandered to…

So far I have had the good fortune to visit Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Victoria Falls (both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides), as well as deeper into Zambia including Kafue, Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa,  Botswana, South Africa, Uganda and Ethiopia. I’d love to visit the Republic of Congo to track western lowland gorillas. On one trip to Kenya, I visited the baby elephant I “adopted” in Nairobi, went tubing down a pristine river in Laikipia, and drove soundlessly through a herd of 10,000 wildebeest as the sun set over the Sand River.

Some memorable moments…

When one has had the good fortune to travel to Africa it’s hard to narrow down the list, but I would say gliding across the gin-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika by dhow before pulling up to Greystoke, one of the world’s most remote lodges. The first sight of it from the water, a series of thatched chalets along a sandy beach at the base of the Mahale Mountains, alive with chattering birds and wild chimpanzees, is breathtaking.
